Senior Fishing Day 2010. (Added 08/05/2010)

Nursing Home Residents Go Fishing On Saturday, July 10, 2010 residents from the Fiddler’s Green Nursing Home were treated to a day of fishing and relaxation at the Springville Field and Stream Club’s Trout Pond on North Buffalo Street, Springville, New York. The Field and Stream Club and nursing home provided a picnic lunch for the residents. Boy Scout Troop 524 under the leadership of Wayne Deiter, Scout Master; Joel Maul, Committee Member; Robert Yaeger, Assistant Scout Master; Donna Yaeger, Committee Chair and Jeff Maybray, Assistant Scout Master were present to assist with this event. The boy scouts assisted each nursing home resident with baiting their fish hook and catching fishing. This was a wonderful opportunity for the boys to experience working with senior citizens. The following members of the Field and Stream Club were active in making this a very successful event for the scouts and nursing home residents: Richard Kazmark (chairman), Karl Ott and Rich Zifra. With the dedicated efforts of the members of the Springville Field and Stream, they have been able to provide this event for the nursing homes in Springville for the past 29 years. The Springville Field and Stream Club would like to thank the following businesses for their sponsorship: Ball Toilet and Septic System for a donation of a handicapped accessible lavatory and S and S Taxidermy and Archery Pro Shop, LLC for their donation of worms for the nursing home residents to use. In the picture are Joel Maul and Linda Catalano (patient at nursing home). (Added 08/05/2010)
